چکیده
Abstract As is well known, for plasmas of high density and modest temperature, the classical kinetic theory needs to be extended. Such extensions can based on Schrödinger Hamiltonian, applying a Wigner transform matrix, in which case Vlasov equation replaced by celebrated Wigner–Moyal equation. Extending treatment more complicated models, we investigate aspects such as spin dynamics (based Pauli Hamiltonian), exchange effects (using Hartree–Fock approximation), Landau quantization, quantum relativistic theory. In theory, first study cases where field strength well-beyond Schwinger critical field. Both weakly (gamma factors close unity) strongly are investigated, using assumptions that allow separation electron positron states. Finally, so-called Dirac–Heisenberg–Wigner (DHW) formalism, fully allowing strengths order or even larger. result, extended cover phenomena Zitterbewegung electron–positron pair creation. While focus this review illustrate theories with various applications throughout manuscript.

Kinetic theory for quantum plasmas
Quantum plasmas have been studied theoretically for more than four decades. Important early applications include the electron gas in metals and the electron-hole plasma in semiconductors and dimensionally reduced nanostructures. Experiments with lasers and ion beams are now making dense quantum plasmas of electrons and (classical) ions accessible in the laboratory giving rise to increased theor...
متن کاملNeutral Vlasov kinetic theory of magnetized plasmas
The low-frequency limit of Maxwell equations is considered in the Maxwell-Vlasov system. This limit produces a neutral Vlasov system that captures essential features of plasma dynamics, while neglecting radiation effects. Euler-Poincaré reduction theory is used to show that the neutral Vlasov kinetic theory possesses a variational formulation in both Lagrangian and Eulerian coordinates. By cons...
متن کاملKinetic Theory of Plasmas: Translational Energy
In the present contribution, we derive from kinetic theory a unified fluid model for multicomponent plasmas by accounting for the electromagnetic field influence. We deal with a possible thermal nonequilibrium of the translational energy of the particles, neglecting their internal energy and the reactive collisions. Given the strong disparity of mass between the electrons and heavy particles, s...
متن کاملQuantum Kinetic Theory for Laser Plasmas. Dynamical Screening in Strong Fields
A quantum kinetic theory for correlated charged-particle systems in strong time-dependent electromagnetic fields is developed. Our approach is based on a systematic gauge-invariant nonequilibrium Green's functions formulation. Extending our previous analysis [I] we concentrate on the selfconsistent treatment of dynamical screening and electromagnetic fields which is applicable to arbitrary none...
